“Walking the Appalachian Trail in New Jersey” is presented by veteran hiker George Lightcap. In this Power Point presentation, George will be describing the trail, “from the Delaware Water Gap to Bellvale Mountain:” the views, significant landmarks, and flora and fauna of New Jersey’s 72 mile section of this historic footpath. Expect tips for day hikes, loop hikes and backpack expeditions. A former teacher in Vernon Township and now teaching at Sussex County Community College, George has been walking the New Jersey Appalachian Trail since 1982 and making it part of the classroom for countless Vernon and SCCC students."
