Your favorite spot in Sparta is about to get better! Come learn about the Sparta Glen brook restoration project, undertaken jointly by the The Fred S. Burroughs North Jersey Chapter of Trout Unlimited, Sparta Township, the New Jersey Highlands Coalition, Corporate Wetlands Restoration Partners, US Fish and Wildlife, New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife, the Eastern Brook Trout Joint Venture and TU National to do a stream restoration project for the Sparta Glen Brook.
This effort will stop the brook's bank erosion and restore its ecosystem to its natural state. In doing so, the stream's banks will be made stable with plantings, the habitat will be restored for natural trout spawning, and the general appearance of the park will be enhanced.
